Fatra forest is near KuaKata. It is extended part of the Sundarban mangrove forest. The main tree is Sundari . There are also few other trees found. In Fatra forest you will found various kinds of animals like monkey, jackals, Bagdas (One kind of little tiger) etc. You can go to visiting Fatra forest . Visiting Fatra forest by trailer is a excellent experience for you. You can watch big tide like 30 feet in highest and it is thrilling how the fisherman avoid these waves. Kuakata is the Spot of pilgrimage for both Hindu and Buddhist communities. Mistri-para Buddist In kuakata there has a Buddhist temple. It is another attraction of Kuakata.This temples are in the Kuakata Parjatan area and in the Rakhain's locality. This Buddhist Temple age is about 100 years old. In this Temple there has a statue of Gautama Buddha. This is the Biggest Buddhist statue of Bangladesh at Kuakata  and there also two wells of 200 years old.

Kuakata is a beauiful sea beach of Bangladesh. Kuakata  Situated  in the Patuakhali district. Kuakata has a wide sandy beach. In this sea beach one can see both the sunrise and sunset. Kuakata sea beach  is about 320 Km south of Dhaka capital of Bangladesh and about 70 Km from the district Patuakhali. The Kuakata sea beach is 30 kilometer long and 6 kilometerm wide.

History

Kuakata came from the Bengali language 'Kua' which means “Well” . It was made on the sea side by the Rakhine settlers for gathering fresh water. Rakhine settlers came here at 18th century after being banished from Arakan now this is Myanmar by the Mughals. Later on, it has become a heritage of digging Well or 'Kua' in the Rakhaine tribes for fresh drinking water.

Kuakata has another name is "Shagor Kannya" known as Locally Which means "Daughter of the Sea". This area is also a shelter for migratory winter birds. Once upon a time Kuakata was the part of Sundarbans when the settlers came here. Eastern corner of the beach  is Gongamati Reserved Forest, an evergreen mangrove forest. You can go to the forest by foot or bike through the beach. It is the places of pilgrimage for both Hindu and Buddhist people. 'Rush Purnima' and 'Maghi Purnima' on these two days the Hindu and Buddhist people take holy bath at the bay of bangle at kuakata. In this time there held a fair. You  can also visit 100 years old Buddhist Temple and two wells of 200 years old. Fisher man village is another places for visit. By managed the fisher man you can go for fishing if you are adventure lover. In this village you will watch the seen that the fisher man come back after fishing. You can also also buy some fish from the fisher man.

The government and local business man have made many developments over the years to attract traveler in kuakata. There are many Parjatan Motel hotel in Kuakata. And communication system is well. The best way to reach Kuakata from Dhaka is to first travel to Barisal by road, water, or air, and then to take the bus or boat/launch for the destination. The Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation introduced a direct bus service from Dhaka to Kuakata via Barisal. So enjoy your travel.

The river Dhansiri is the dream river for the poet of nature Jibonando Das. Standing here he made "Abar asibi fire Dhansiritir tire ei banglai" (i will come back beside this river Dhansiri in this Bangla). His father's name Sottanondo Das and mothers name Kusum Kumari Das. His nick name is Mil. His old residence is Gougara, Bikrompur. But his birth place is Barisal's Notun Bajar. He took birth in 17th feb, in 1899. The river Dhansiri is at Rajapur subdistrict in present Jhalokati. In time of the rule of british, steamer went from one place to another among Barisal-Jhalakathi-Rajapur-Saturia-Coukhali-Pirojpur-Khulna-Kolkata. There is paddy field in both sides of the river. Beside the bank of the river there was his uncles(mother's brother) house at Bamankathi village. The poet used to came in uncle's house with his parents in his childhood. He used to live in Barisal with his parents but his uncle's house is his favourite place. He enjoyed the beautiful natural scenery of the river Dhansiri.

The most heart touching memory of Britsh Rules is Kulkathi. By the conspiracy of local Hindus and with the order of Majistrate E. N. Brandey Gurca soldiers fired on Muslim and 19 Muslim People died. Again many were injured.The grave of the 19 died muslim people is here at kulkathi village at Nalchati Thana. After crossing the college Kheyaghata, 3/4 km shold pass to get Kulkhati village.This is a symbol of British rule.

Siddha kathi landlord house is the house of Siddhakathi Rai Chowdhy. It is Kamini Ray's fathers-in-law's house. The main building was destroyed. There is some debris of some building with a Rangmahal. Well decorated pond is the witness of time. Siddhakathi school was made by landlord Jagot Prosonno Ray. It is in its own height till now. This landlord house is in 3/4 km distance from Nalchiti sadorat at siddhakathi village.

How to reach:

If you want  go there you need to goat frist Barisal by road or riverinetransport and Then Bhola by road way.  From Bhola 2.5 hours road journey and then 1/2 hour boat journey need to reach Char Kukri Mukri.

Accommodation:

Circuit/guest houses are available in Bhola but More comfortable  accommodations
are available at Barisal.
